The bar we went to last night was this super-club above and behind this ritzy porsche dealership on Nanjing West. One of Eric’s friends got us on the list which gave us free and unlimited drinks and access to some DJ from Spain’s dance floor. It reminded me of something seen on gossip girl. I was still slightly disappointed, however, because when I felt it was getting close to the new year and I asked what time it was, we discovered it was 12:01. Then the DJ noticed our phone and announced the new year and returned to mixing.

Last night at about 11 p.m. at People’s Square there were tons of people releasing these lanterns. There were people’s names and I’m assuming different inscriptions on each in hopes of the new year. Cal, Eric and I searched for them and asked people around to direct us to them to no avail. Still a beautiful experience.

When I walked out of my room just now, my roommate and Cal’s were lying on our couch doing what they call their “morning yoga,” which, according to them, makes pooping easier and faster. This is the last time I will ever have to see that.

Meet Tumbler. He is the cutest thing I have ever held in my two hands (and last week in just one hand). Some of my coworkers found him when they were walking home from work and heard something yelping by the moat in front of our school. They caught him just as he was tumbling down the hill into this moat, thus his namesake. When they found him he was so little, he couldn’t open his eyes, and he had no teeth. Not only are his eyes open, but he can stumble around the apt on his wobbly legs and is currently working on being potty trained.

The bar we went to last night. There was a trampoline dance floor, some drunk singing karaoke on the bar for half an hour, and sparklers to boot.
